Unlike other objects, a book is not something common to find in album covers. After a deep search of several famous covers, I was able to discover that there is one album in which there actually is a book in the cover, which was good. This album, however, is bad.
This album, by Ira North, a preacher and author within the Churches of Christ, that lived between 1922 and 1984, was considered among one of the worst albums ever made. Just by looking at its title, "If I were a woman", we can assume right away that we're about to listen to something judgy. And, in fact, this all album was basically one big clueless misogynistic rant in the guise of a folky sermon , which was simply the case of every southern religious sermon record at that time.

The book in the cover
In the cover we can see Ira holding a book that is admittedly a bible. This book pretends to illustrate the fact that he was a religious man, always with a bible in his posession, which was also the source off all his beliefs. If there wasn't any book on this cover we wouldn't understand right away that this man was a preacher. The fact that a simple book can have such an importance in defining ones characther is at least remarkable. There aren't many other album covers that have this object portrayed in them, but in the case of this one, it has all the sense to it.
