L'innovazione e i brevetti
Book.abstract
This invention relates more particularly to the construction of books in which the leaves are bound together by wire staples. One of the objects of my invention is to provide the leaves with simple means for preventing the same from folding or turning over when the book is open. Another object is to bind the leaves to the cover by a strong and inexpensive fastening which also serves as a loop for removably at taching the book to a backing or main cover.

Virtual on-demand eletronic book
abstract
An eletronic book selection delivery system distributes text to subscribers. The system provides for on-demand and virtual on-demand delivery of eletronic books. Specified eletronic books may be broadcast to a set of subscribers. Alternatively, a first section of the specified eletronic books may be broadcast. A second section of each of the eletronic books is then available for late delivery, upon order by a subscriber. The second sections, as well as first sections, and true on-demand eletronic books may be loaded into one or more queues. The queues may then be emptied based on a priority model. Electronic books in an on-demand queue may be given priority for delivery over electronic books in other queues.

Book
abstract
By providing a foldable portion in association with the cover of a book with the cover and foldable portion incorporating coordinatedindicia thereon, a unique book construction is achieved which provides a readily deployable, enlarged, visually stimulating display associated therewith. Preferably, the foldable portion is mounted or cooperatingly associated with the lower or bottom edge of the cover and incorporates an integrally formed fold line therein. In this way, the cover in combination with the foldable portion establishes an elongated, substantially continuous overall configuration which enables the book to be vertically mounted on a supporting surface with the folded portion extending therefrom. In the preferred arrangement, the book is mounted on a support surface in an up-right, self-standing position, with the folded portion extending outwardly and downwardly from the book cover presenting the visual impression that the book and/or the indicia appearing thereon is physically sitting on the support surface.Number: US5383684A (US Grant)
